An active holiday with hiking and sailing is possible during our 4 or 5 days Sail & Hike trips. Every day you can help with sailing, but also enjoy the easy level hiking routes through the beautiful province of Friesland. You stay 4 or 5 days with full board on our comfortable sailing ship ’t Wapen fan Fryslân and do various hikes. In between hiking trips, you cruise along with the ship, which travels to a new destination every day. You dine, sleep and eat breakfast on board. Every day you can make a packed lunch and choose between a hike or simply take a relaxed ride on the ship.
During this idyllic Sail & Hike trip you will hike along the famous Elfstedenroute from Stavoren to Workum. You can enjoy the view over the IJsselmeer on the dyke hiking trails, and also experience the calmness of the small Frisian villages.
On the way you come through Hindeloopen, one of the most beautiful and picturesque towns in Friesland. Overnight you stay on the ship in the Elfstedenstad Workum. Next day, before the ship hoists its sails to start its way back to Enkhuizen, you will have time for a hike round trip in the area of Workum.

This Sail & Hike route leads along the Frisian Lake District and through picturesque Frisian towns.
The trip begins with a sailing trip from Enkhuizen to Sloten. Enjoy the freedom of the IJsselmeer and the Frisian landscape on the canals. On the second day you will hike along the famous Elfstedenroute and visit the towns of Sloten, Balk and Woudsend. You will also sail the lakes, de Fluessen, the Sloter- and Heegermeer and finally sail back to Enkhuizen through Stavoren over the IJsselmeer.
